About this work

Satirical print on the Austrian Emperor Joseph II as a monkey riding a lobster. He arrives at a building decorated with statues of saints, on whose roof a crowd of people is dancing. Related to 14 August 1789. Numbered top left: 37. Part of the bound collection of prints relating to the events of the Brabantian Revolution and the period 1787-1790.
