About this work

A town crier announces the death of someone to a housewife in the doorway of a wine shop. On the hanging sign: Vry Wyn. Part of a bound edition of the series of twenty-four plates of Dutch costumes in the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the beginning of the nineteenth century by Maaskamp, 1829.
