Strip of bobbin lace with a symmetrical pattern of three stylized tulips

Strip of Natural-Coloured Bobbin Lace: Old Flemish Lace. The Repeating and Symmetrical Pattern Consists of a Straight Stem Hanging Downwards with a Calyx Flower or Stylised Tulip at the Bottom. The Central Stem is Flanked by Wavy Stems (S-Shaped), with a Smaller Calyx-Shaped Flower at Each End and a Small Rosette Flower at the Base. The Motifs are Made in Linen Stitch with Openwork Edges. There is Barely Any Ground, but the Piece Shows a First Attempt at the Development of Trellis Grounds. The Upper Side of the Strip is Finished Straight. The Very Flat Shell Edge Along the Lower Side of the Strip is Finished with Picots.
