About this work

Tin ewer. On the foot ring rests the pear-shaped body, which is three times arched. At the top the body ends in a narrow, slightly flaring rim with a spout. The upper side is closed with an arched lid that covers the knob and spout. The thumb rest in shell shape has a three-toothed hinge. Attached to the neck is an acanthus-shaped handle that extends to the widest point of the belly, on which a Janus head is applied. From an acorn-shaped element springs the small spout.
