About this work
Mutton-tail flaps of natural-colored bobbin lace, Binche lace. The barbes are sewn together. The pattern consists of diagonally placed C-shaped volutes with feather-like leaves and flowers between them, including half-rosette flowers. The motifs are largely made in linen stitch and are connected by a lattice ground, a five-hole ground. A snowflake ground is used as a decorative ground. The shallow scalloped edge around is finished with picots.
