About this work
Bonnet lappets of natural-colored bobbin lace, Mechlin lace. The barbes are sewn together. The repeating pattern consists of a cornucopia cutting through a river, from which a leafy vine grows, half-feathered and half-studded with peacock eyes. A shallow scalloped edge with a sewn-on picot border. The motifs are made in linen stitch with a thicker contour thread and connected by a lattice ground, a five-hole ground.
