About this work
On a plinth stands a naked young man on the toes of his right foot with his left leg raised, standing on a rock block. With his left arm he holds against himself a naked woman kneeling on the rock, hanging limp backwards, and supports her hanging head with his right hand. Her left hand she holds against the back of the youth, who looks down at her with his head turned to the left; his right arm hangs limp downwards. A drapery falls from her lap to the floor. The youth's cloak is held up on his back by a belt running from the right shoulder under the left arm.
