About this work

Lid box for medals in the form of a book bound in leather. By means of a slide which can be pulled away from the back, the interior opens, containing six sliding drawers with recessed seating for the medals. The book is gilded on the edges and decorated with polychrome floral motifs on the top and sides. The beard is in red morocco with gilded petits-pen decoration on both sides and on the back in the manner of Magnus.
