About this work

Carved and gilded wooden hand mirror consisting of a handle and an organically connected mirror frame, irregularly round in shape. The carving consists of stretched S- and C-shapes, foliage, and flowers. The mirror is crowned in the center by a C-shaped crest with a stalactite and two small roses. Small roses are also applied as decoration halfway up. The back was probably covered with red fabric; traces still present.
