Silver Stand for an Oil and Vinegar Set

Silver holder for an oil and vinegar set. The base has a round, vaulted elevation in the center, crowned by a leaf-shaped, profiled knob. It rests on four leaf-shaped feet. On both rounded ends are mounted the identical openwork sides, in which the bottles fit. They are built up above a profiled lower edge from C-scrolls with rocailles, forming cartouches. The cartouches on the front and back contain flowers; in those at the ends, a leaf of the same model as the feet is attached. The sides are connected at the top by tied ribbons that on the front and back turn into C-shaped, branch-like ears, which grasp the base. From the center of the bows rise a spiral and three volutes. The volutes turn into three widely spreading tree branches with birds, which together form the cylindrical wall of the pepper grinder holder. The round, flat base of that holder is attached to the inside of the branches.
