Sugar vase, round, with cannelures and acanthus leaf

The service consists of a teapot (BK-15769) with an S-shaped curved spout and a wing-shaped handle, a milk jug (BK-15770) with a similar smaller handle and a wide lip, and a sugar bowl (BK-15771) on a foot with two similar, even smaller handles. The round bodies of the teapot and sugar bowl, widening upwards, are decorated with cannelures, bounded at the top by a smooth rim, above which is a slightly projecting ribbed rim. The top is composed of a broad, slightly hollow band, a narrow, horizontal, punched border, a slightly convex frieze of acanthus leaves on a stippled ground, and a narrow punched border. Above the teapot is a raised, profiled upper rim into which the loose lid fits. This consists of a smooth, tapering lower part with a bell-shaped section on top, which is framed at the top by acanthus leaves and bounded at the bottom by a pearl border. Resting on this, connected by a devil's-tongue intermediate piece, is an acorn-shaped finial.
