About this work

The round salt cellar has a removable inner bowl. The hemispherical, open holder is built up from an upper ring to which three curved rods are attached. These are all decorated with fillet borders. At the bottom the rods come together on an arched foot. This is screwed onto a dish with an arched wall, worked with tears, which is closed at the top by a fillet border. The inner bowl of colorless glass has a wavy upper edge and is cut with a chatter border, below which a border of diamond heads above a sunburst.
