About this work
Standing clock of walnut. The pedestal on claw feet has obliquely placed console-shaped corner posts. The corner posts and the central field show a decorative border in marquetry, as well as the lower and upper scalloped cabinet door with finial and gilded copper fittings. The vaulted hood has an openwork frieze on Tuscan columns with copper, a finial and, as a crown, three bronze figures of Fame, Time and Atlas on pedestals. Of the two dials, the lower one has a third, with an etched male portrait.
