About this work

Linen damask napkin with the Promised Land. Central field: the symmetrical pattern shows from bottom to top four scenes: 1 Tents; God the Father leaning outwards, with halo and surrounded by clouds. 2 Two men walking to the sides, carrying a staff with a gigantic bunch of grapes over their shoulders, while one carries a fruit basket; the words NUMER XIII; IOSUE and CALEB. 3 A vineyard with grape clusters, between which the word NEHEL; a armored warrior turned towards the middle with a spear. 4 A fortified city (halved). Standing borders: single vine border with flowers; outside that block border.
