About this work
Hollow, round silver plaque, surrounded by a leaf wreath. In the foreground the young Tobias, who, under the guidance of the angel walking to his right, embarks on a journey at his father's request. Over his right shoulder he carries a fish that will bring healing to his old father and future wife. To the left of his feet a small dog. To the left in the middle distance, on the other side of a bridged river, Tobias catches the fish from the water at the angel's instruction. To the right a heavy tree trunk and overhanging foliage. In the distance a city in a mountainous landscape.
