Strip of bobbin lace and silver lace with floral vine and hanging berries

Bobbin lace strip, silver lace, blonde. On a mesh ground, a silk tulle ground, a repeating and continuous pattern of a flowering vine with hanging berries is bobbin-laced in silver thread. The flowering vine runs over the center line of the strip and the berries hang with two or three one below the other downwards into the unevenly zigzagging shells along the underside of the strip. Thinner filé yarn was used for the filling than for the thick filé yarns used to emphasize the contours of the motifs and shells. The top side of the strip is finished straight, but partially damaged. The zigzag shells are finished with picots of silver thread.
