Strip of bobbin lace with rounded triangular shells

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, blonde. The strip is slightly curved in shape. The repeating pattern begins with a diagonally placed branch, which curls up at the bottom. Attached to the branch on both sides is a round flower with six rectangular petals. Hanging below the branch are three different, rounded triangles resembling shells. An arched pillar always protrudes straight upwards from the underside of the strip after every third shell, thus forming a separation between the successive branches. Above the pattern the strip consists of a fine mesh ground, a tulle ground. Below the branches and in the pillars an ornamental ground is applied, a rose ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with a cut-out in the flower hearts and in each triangular shell. A particularly thick contour thread is used to accentuate the pillars and the triangular shells in a continuous line. The branches are not provided with a contour thread. The top side of the strip is finished straight.
