Strip of needle lace with wavy zigzag border and rose branch

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Brussels mesh lace. The repeating pattern consists of a regularly undulating decorative border, with in each valley a rose branch. On the rose branch sits one large rose in the center under which hangs a smaller rose, on the thin branch going towards the top two more openwork rosette flowers. Under each wave top hangs a semi-circular flower on a thin stem with two heart-shaped leaves. The flower consists of a lying C-scroll with seven lobes as petals. The undulating decorative border consists of two closely placed outline threads that form a narrow line and under which hangs a strongly winding outline thread, which creates an open zigzag line. Under the open zigzag a series of small circles. The undulating decorative border forms the shell edge, together with the hanging circular flower. The linked small circles and seven petals provide the scallops on the shell edge.
