Chair of Partially Gilded Walnut

Chair of partly gilded walnut, with front and back rails placed in a splayed position. The front rail shows, among other things, in low relief a devil's mask, flanked by S-volutes, ending in beast's claws with acanthus leaves. The back has the shape of an inverted isosceles triangle, with two panels decorated with leafy vines. At the corners stand female figures as caryatids, whose lower body ends in acanthus leaves and volutes. Topped by a fretted mount with a child's head and volutes.
