About this work
Two armchairs and a sofa. Beech, upholstered in tapestry. The chairs: Paris, c. 1750–1760, by Jean-Baptiste Gourdin. The sofa modern. The tapestry: Paris, Manufacture Royale des Gobelins, c. 1772. The tapestry upholstery was made for the Prince de Condé for the Chambre Rose at the Palais Bourbon in Paris. The original seat furniture to which it was applied does not survive.
