About this work

Linen damask napkin with fleurs de lys. Swirling bands form elongated fields in height. The bands consist of straight and round sections, filled with small fleurs de lys; at the junctions a swirling branch with lilies. The border, outlined only on the outside with fine zigzag edges and scrollwork with grid filling, shows densely packed flower bouquets, directed from the corners toward the center and originating from a support bearing a fleur de lys. Surrounding: block border.
