About this work

A wall panel with silk-painted wallpaper. The cream-white ground in rib binding is divided per strip by two grey-blue stripes in satin binding into a wide central panel and narrower side panels. On the blue, tied bouquets are painted alternating with loose flowers; on the central panel an upright vine with leaves and flower variations in pink, lilac, and blue, and on the sides a narrower vine with flowers. In later times the wallpaper was mounted on paper and on jute.
