About this work
Base of a console table in gilded lime wood. The carved, profiled marble top is supported by two turned carved C-scrolls flanking a crest shell; two more C-scrolls to the left and right. The whole rests on a lower part consisting of a large acanthus leaf, above which a caterpillar-shaped motif. See also: BK-16855-B.
