About this work

Walnut sgabello decorated with intarsia, resting on three splayed legs, square in cross-section and widening towards the bottom. The legs, the octagonal seat, and the elongated trapezoidal back frame bear intarsia borders. The lower and upper parts of the back posts show a volute; on the top rail lie two acanthus volutes supporting a medallion, surrounded by a border of half-moons and crowned with a palmette, which on both sides shows the arms of the Strozzi. See: BK-16878-a.
