About this work

Walnut armchair. The square legs extend backwards into the back rails and forwards into the armrest supports. The front legs are connected by a carved flat front stretcher; the rear legs by a flat stretcher, sawn out at top and bottom. The front and rear legs are further connected by low-set stretchers, which are acanthus-shaped at the bottom. The straight S-shaped armrests end in volutes. The leather upholstery of the back and seat is nailed with copper tacks. See: BK-16879-a.
