About this work

An iron projecting arm consisting of square bars formed into C- and broken S-scrolls. On the arm ending in a bird's head hangs a shield with a gilded sun. The scrolls of the arm carry some foliage and a large leafy vine. Around the shield, C-scrolls enclose the face of the sun, around which rays are placed. Some of these scrolls have a scalloped leaf edge. From the collection of Dr. F. Mannheimer.
