About this work
Fragment of a carpet, a so-called Polentapijt, of knotted silk. The central field is decorated with spiral scrolls ending in leaf forms and cloud bands. The secondary decorative system bears lotus flowers and palmettes. The central field is framed by a border with a floral pattern.
