Velvet brocade with a pomegranate pattern in gold on wine-red. Texture: the pile is cut in two heights, with gold interwoven and partially crushed. Pattern: rows of pointed-arch vines contoured with closely arranged leaves; at the tips, a single pomegranate emerges, surrounded by seven-lobed leaves, concentric in red and gold. The lobes are acolyte-shaped; the gold lobes have clover-leaf terminals. From the tops of the seven-lobed leaves, pointed-arch vines grow again, creating various fields, each with a pomegranate in the center. Mounting: the piece consists of three sewn fabric widths. On the detached lining, a crowned mark V: the piece served as the throne canopy of Queen Victoria.
