About this work

Lambrequin or strip of appliqué embroidery on a wine-red velvet ground. The pattern features symmetrical lying S-scrolls, tied in the center with a lily and a rose. The richly branched scroll is adorned with leaf rosettes and ends in volutes of acanthus leaves and silver connecting scrolls. The strip is finished with gold passementerie and gold fringe along the bottom edge. The strip belongs to a set of three strips.
