About this work

Lambrequin or strip of appliqué embroidery on a wine-red velvet ground. The pattern has symmetrical horizontal S-scrolls, tied in the middle with a lily and a rose. The richly branched scroll is adorned with leaf rosettes and ends in volutes of acanthus leaves and silver attachment scrolls. The strip is finished with gold passementerie and gold fringe along the lower edge. The strip belongs to three strips (BK-17292-A to BK-17292-D).
