About this work

Silver badge of a Rhetoricians' chamber or shooting guild in Overschie. Engraved and cut out with leaf scrolls in cartouche form. Front: David dancing before the Ark of the Covenant surrounded by the border inscription: TSCHIET UYT VREUGHT OUWERSCHIE 1702. On the reverse a rose bush surrounded by the border inscription: DE NEEGE ROO ROOSE KNOPPE. The shield is hung from an eye and three chains. At the bottom, on small chains, an acorn and the letters I, (missing), B, S.
