About this work

Desk veneered with several types of wood on an oak core. The four baluster-shaped legs placed diagonally at the corners are connected by an X-shaped curved cross and flow into the corner posts. Between these on the left and right sides are three drawers; in the center, a recessed compartment with a door and drawer. The slightly curved drawers, sides, door, and corner posts feature floral and foliate marquetry, with or without a vase; the door includes a mask. The top is entirely filled with grotesques.
