About this work

Dessus-de-porte or overdoor piece of plaster in a modern oak frame. In relief the offering to the god Pan is depicted. On the left stands on a herm-shaped pedestal the bust of Pan. In the middle a standing woman, who teaches a girl standing in front of her to play the double pan flute; on the right a kneeling woman with a fruit basket. In front of the image of Pan stands a smoking altar. See also: BK-1957-33-c/d.
