Strip of natural-coloured needle lace: punto in aria. Scattered among some flowers on a partly wavy and partly winding vine are various animals, including birds, lions and dogs. At a distance, a large flower springs from the top and bottom, always different in shape. The motifs are made with festoon stitches and partly with ornamental stitches. Light relief contours have been applied along various motifs. Only a few bars have been used to connect the motifs. Some animals are provided with extra stitches forming a dot pattern. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, the bottom side being provided with a row of wheel picots.
