Slip of a necktie of bobbin lace with wide V-shaped cartouche with zigzag line and rosette flowers

Slip of a necktie of natural-colored bobbin lace: Duchesse lace. Rectangular model. The symmetrical pattern consists of a wide V-shaped cartouche with a zigzag line, which is closed at the top with a string of rosette flowers. Inside the cartouche five larger rosette flowers. Hanging from the cartouche are palm leaves downwards. Below that, evenly distributed along the edges of the necktie slip, five of the largest flowers of the pattern, with leaves. Between these flowers always one or several rosette flowers and on each of the two corners a cluster flower. The motifs are made in linen stitch with very sparingly applied cutouts. Running around the motifs are thick contour threads and relief contours consisting of thread bundles applied as leaf veins. In four of the largest flowers a star as flower center is made with a needle lace technique. The cartouche is partly made in net stitch. The motifs are connected to each other by a plaited ground with few picots.
