About this work
Furniture decoration of natural-colored machine-made lace: etching lace. The lace imitates needle lace: reticella and punto in aria. On a rectangular strip are sewn at the ends two scallop shells, overlapping more than half with the strip. Between these scallop shells hang smaller scallop shells on the underside of the strip. The scallop shells have in the center a rosette in a standing oval medallion. On the back are sewn three metal hooks for attachment to an eyelet.
