About this work
Fragment of a tapestry depicting September and October, belonging to a series of ten with the months, elements, seasons, day and night. The series was made on commission of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm, stadtholder of the Southern Netherlands. On this fragment a winged woman with a balance in her left hand and a horn of plenty in her right hand is depicted, representing the month of September.
