About this work
Porcelain teapot with a globular body, curved spout and rocaille handle, painted on the glaze in enamel colours and gold. On the belly twice a landscape with people and a pillar with a vase. Between them bouquets and sprays. Gold lines on the foot and the neck. The spout ends in an animal head. The lid with sprays and a pointed finial. Marked with the monogram of Catherine II of Russia. Possibly a 19th or 20th century forgery.
