Strip of appliqué lace with vine

Strip of natural-colored Brussels appliqué lace: needle lace applied on a drochet ground. Under a scattered pattern of grape leaves runs along the lower edge a continuous vine, from which twigs branch out to two sides with grape leaves and bunches of grapes. The very flat scalloped edge is formed by upright grape leaves, alternated with wreaths with pearl borders and filled with decorative stitches. Motifs are built with buttonhole stitches and are accentuated by relief contours of widely buttonholed thread bundles. The upper side is finished straight with a drawn thread band.
