About this work

Porcelain tureen, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, brown, purple and gold. Decorated with two scalloped medallions, each containing a different Chinese scene (chinoiserie) and surrounded by flower branches. On the foot and rim a gold band. Just above the foot a decorative band and on the shoulder a band with scrollwork, diamond patterns and shell motifs (laub- und bandelwerk). On the bottom a flower branch and loose flowers. The two ears in the form of panthers and leaf vines.
