About this work

Porcelain jug, covered on the glaze with red and gold. The jug has an egg-shaped body on a spreading foot and a wide neck with a broad pouring spout on one side. The high handle has a palmette at the base and the end is in the form of a snake's head, which bites into the rim. The belly is covered in red, and the foot, shoulder, neck, and handle are covered in gold. On the shoulder, a floral vine in one of the gold bands. Marked on the underside with II. Empire.
