About this work
Fragment of silk brocade with a pattern of pastel flowers on a striped ground. Pattern: vertical silver bands (fading to the yellow core) alternating with narrow light blue bands in gray-beige framing. Filling of curved flower branches and stiff palmette flowers in pink with white and pink with silver. Note: four fragments attached for analysis (BK-1963-88-C to -F). Oriental textile.
