Mitten of black bobbin lace with C-scrolls and rose garlands

Mitten of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. Model extending to just below the elbow, shaped to the arm. The pattern on the back of the hand consists of a large rose and a flower garland, and along the edge several linked large C-scrolls. Flower garlands run along the forearm and upper arm sections, originating at the lower edge. The lower edge consists of linked small rosette flowers from which several smaller C-scrolls in leaf shape originate. The motifs are made in net stitch and accentuated by contour threads. The motifs are connected by a tulle ground. In the C-scrolls along the hand edge and in the larger flowers, a decorative ground is applied, a rose ground. All edges are finished with picots.
