About this work

Engageante with tambour work, consisting of two strips, the lower one projecting beyond the upper. The engageante has a wide border pattern of pairs of overhanging leaves forming the scalloped outer edge. From the leaves rise two stems with bell-shaped flowers. Where the wide strip is covered by the narrower strip, it is unadorned. On the upper strip, along the inner side, are pointed arch vines and binding edges.
