About this work
Engageante with tambour work, consisting of two strips, the lower one extending beyond the upper. The engageante has a wide border pattern of pairs of overhanging leaves forming the scalloped outer edge. From the leaves rise two stems with bellflowers. Where the wide strip is covered by the narrower strip, it is undecorated. On the upper strip, along the inner side, stand pointed arch vines and hemstitch borders.
