About this work

Fragment of silk weave with an incomplete, asymmetrical pattern: a bright green winding leaf branch, angled slightly to the right, bears a large poppy in gold thread and light pink, edged in salmon pink, with dark red chenille shadows and a heart of five cherry-red chenille flowers with green edges. Bottom left, partially cut off, a purple flower in gold thread and dark purple chenille shadows. Top right, a hanging leaf branch with a cluster of fruits in gold thread, orange silk, and dark brown chenille.
