About this work

Fragment of silk weave with an incomplete, asymmetrical pattern: on a thin wavy branch grows a poppy with a bud-shaped heart of turquoise-green and petals in silver, pink, and lilac with aubergine chenille shadows. Right (cut off and a leftward repetition visible), a large incised leaf of silver with turquoise-green edges and aubergine chenille shadow. Cut off: another flower in cream, white, rust, steel blue, and dark blue chenille.
