About this work

Milk jug of porcelain with an egg-shaped body, straight spout ending in an animal's head, and at right angles to it a curled handle in the form of a leafy vine. Painted on the glaze in enamel colors and gold. On the body, two birds in a landscape, one on a branch and the other on the ground. Beside them, a bouquet and wildflowers. On the rim, a band with lacework, beneath which gold vines. The curled handle is gilded and ends in a palmette. The lid with wildflowers has the same band with lacework; finial in the form of a fruit branch (pear). Marked on the underside with the A and I.
