About this work

Purse in a flat model with tapering bottom, of dark red velvet. On both sides along the edge a strip of gold lace, through which a narrow band of metal is woven. Vertically across the middle a braided gold cord (probably originally crossed with a horizontal cord) with in the four corners four metal rosettes. The purse closes by two loops and two buttons at the top edge. The lining is of red taffeta.
