About this work
Motif in the form of an oval of natural-coloured bobbin lace: Cluny lace. The very narrow contour of the oval is made in linen stitch with an openwork outer edge. Inside the contour is a circle made in net stitch with in the centre a cross or flower with four petals made in pattern stitch. On both sides of the circle, in the points of the oval, a similar flower with six petals. Diagonal lines of linked leaves in pattern stitch form a hexagonal frame around the circle. Connections between motifs with picoted braids.
